Improved limit on the mass of the electron antineutrino from the beta decay of molecular tritium

Description
Based on a study of the shape of the beta spectrum of free molecular tritium, a new upper limit of 13.4 eV (95% confidence level) is reported on the mass of the electron antineutrino. This result appears to be inconsistent with the reported value for the mass of 26(5) eV. The electron neutrino is evidently not massive enough to close the universe by itself.
