Positron annihilation as a perspective method of investigating the electronic structure of actinides and their compounds

Description
Since positron investigations are carried out in uranium compounds, we think it is worthwhile to demonstrate the possibilities of this method in studying of the electronic structure (ES) of metals and metallic materials. Positron annihilation unlike the traditional methods of investigating ES (which require low temperatures) allows to study different phases, what is especially interesting in the case of the actinides and their compounds. As an example we show the results obtained for ferro- and paramagnetic nickel. (author)
