Characterization and crystal defects of the new YBa2Cu3O7-x superconductor

Description
YBa2Cu3O7-x superconductors from different origins have been studied by electron microscopy and X ray emission. This material has an easy clevage plane parallel to (001) making its observation easy. It has been shown that the preparation reaction was not complete for some superconducting materials. YBa2Cu3O7-x crystals can be twinned (mechanical twins, ferroelastic material) but they are generally not, or have few twins. Another oxide has been encountered in epitaxial growth on YBa2Cu3O7-x. A superlattice perpendicular to the common c axis has been observed probably due to a regular stacking of the both oxides
Abstract (French)
Un certain nombre de materiaux supraconducteurs de composition YBa2Cu3O7-x de differentes origines ont ete etudies par microscopie electronique classique et microanalyse par emission X. Ces materiaux se clivent facilement parallelement au plan (001), ce qui facilite leur observation. On a pu constater que pour certains materiaux frittes supraconducteurs la reaction de preparation n'etait pas complete. Le compose stoechiometrique lui-meme peut etre macle (macles mecaniques, materiau ferroelastique), mais generalement il ne l'est pas. Un autre oxyde a ete trouve en epitaxie sur YBa2Cu3O7-x. Un surreseau perpendiculaire a l'axe c commun a ete observe, il est du probablement a l'empilement regulier des deux oxydes l'un sur l'autreAdditional details
