Description

In this work were compared the relative absorbed dose of dosimetric material, for energies of 250 kV and 6 MV, using Monte Carlo code, Penelope-2008 and MCNPX. Simulated materials of GF-301, TLD-100, Magic and MAGAT were placed in a phantom filled with water, and irradiated in reference conditions following the TRS-398 protocol. The simulation was validated compared water-material and a dose distribution obtained with a treatment planning system from a radiotherapy service, reaching out to 8% of difference. The results with lower energies showed an imprecision between the results 4.5% difference, approximately. Major difference shown was for low energy range, due in part by the electrons quickly reaching the cutoff energy and physical aspects of the materials compounds from the luminescence and gel dosimeters used in the present work, that implied in the interaction probability between the radiation and the simulated materials.
