Duplex US in the patency evaluation of arterial lower-limb bypasses: Prospective comparison with DSA

Description

A prospective, comparative study of 70 arterial bypass grafts of the lower limbs in 54 patients was undertaken with duplex US and digital angiography (DSA) in order to evaluate the respective contribution of these two methods in normal and pathologic follow-up survey. The combination of real-time US and Doppler studies well demonstrates complications such as ectasia, false aneurysm, stenosis, and thrombosis. Statistical studies with kappa test show no significant difference between duplex US and DSA in the diagnosis of abnormalities and complications. Duplex UX is a reliable method for lower-limber arterial bypass graft follow-up survey
