Synthesis and radiographic study of Ln3SbO7 (Ln=La, Pr, Nd, Sm) compounds

Description

Studied were the conditions of the production and some properties of the compounds of the composition of Ln3SbO7 formed by light rare earth elements of the series of La-Sm (excluding Ce and Pm). The compounds of this composition are obtained by sintering stoichiometric mixtures of co-precipitated hydroxides of Ln3 and Sb5 or Ln2O3 (in the case of Pr - Pr6O7) with Sb2O3 in air. The structure type, lattice parameters, and density values have been determined with the aid of the X-ray phase analysis. The phases isolated isotypical to La3NbO7 are identical to high-temperature modifications of Ln3SbO7 (Ln=La, Pr)
