Description
The technical factors likely to determine the life of Magnox reactors and AGRs are well understood and the original design lives are likely to be much exceeded because of the economic advantages of continuing to operate such low cost power producers. Attention is however already being given to the problems involved in decommissioning. There are strong arguments for leaving the reactor on site. The procedures involved in decommissioning the CEGB's power stations using the three stage concept is examined. (U.K.)
