Study of French media coverage of the Three Mile Island nuclear incident

The authors consider the question within the scope of an ''analysis of discourse'', combining three specialist approaches (linguistic, semiological and sociological). They outline the workings of the media in France and take a look at the press, radio and television coverage given to the incident, corroborating their findings with several concrete examples

Abstract (French)

Les auteurs inscrivent leur etude dans le cadre de ''l'analyse de discours'' (qui resulte de la convergence de trois disciplines: linguistique, semiologie, sociologie). Apres avoir degage les principaux elements qui caracterisent le mode de fonctionnement des medias en France, ils etudient la facon dont l'evenement a ete traite dans la presse ecrite, a la radio et a la television et illustrent leur propos par plusieurs exemples concrets
