Slovenske elektrarne a.s. Mochovce nuclear power plant (EMO NPP)

The start of construction of the NPP Mochovce was November 1982. In 1995, Mochovce NPP remained in a state of temporary construction stoppage du to a lack of funding. The power station has a valid construction permit in 1983 for units 1 and 2, with no deadline of commissioning. EMO NPP construction had been practically stopped 4 years ago, that resulted in scattering engineering and work-implementation capacities of most suppliers; in in some cases event in disintegration of sub-contractor organizations. A effort has been developed since October 1991 to form-up basic management structures for the construction and revival of engineering and designing capacities. The unfavourable situation in this area, however, on he other hand allows for certain modifications in supplier's system of the general contractor of electric and mechanical part in favour of Slovak suppliers. These facts are respected in a proposal of further progress, but require immediate solution in terms of scheduled revival capacities. In the next part the inspection activities, current status of Mochovce NPP units commissioning are reviewed.
