Solutions of transport equation in (X-Y-Z) three-dimensional geometry by finite element method and spherical harmonic expansion

Description

This work presents a method to solve the neutron transport equation in thre space dimensions. The angular flux is aproximated by spherical harmonics and the finite element method is applied to the space component. The program originated by the analytical development is being tested and some results are presented. (author)

Abstract (Portuguese)

Este trabalho apresenta um metodo de solucao da equacao de transporte em tres dimensoes. A componente angular e aproximada por Polinomios Associados de Legendre enquanto que a componente espacial e aplicada a tecnica de elementos finitos. O programa decorrente do desenvolvimento analitico encontra-se em fase inicial de testes e alguns resultados sao apresentados. (autor)
