Description
The Department of Energy (DoE) sponsored Superconductivity Partnership Initiative (SPI) program for the development of a high-temperature superconducting generator is summarized in this paper. A review of the fabrication and testing of large coils wound at GE from silver-clad (Bi,Pb)2Sr2Ca2Cu3O10 tape supplied by Intermagnetics General Corporation (IGC) is described. Processes for conductor insulation, winding, and epoxy impregnation of the coils are described
