Description
Effect of americium (Am), present at 10 to 40% w/w, during the determination of plutonium (Pu) by potentiometry using AgO as an oxidant was studied and a positive bias was observed in the results. This bias was found to depend on the amount of Am and Pu present in the solution. No such bias was observed in the Ti(III) reduction method based on Pu(III)/(IV) couple in presence of different amounts of Am. (author). 4 refs., 4 tabs
