Criticality safety in processing and handling fissile materials
Description
The figures and graphs given in this document are intended for application in isolated systems consisting of uranium dioxide (UO2) rods without sheaths in light water (H2O) with maximum reflexion through light water. The UO2 density is max. 10,96 g/cm3, water density 1 g/cm3. Rod length, lattice spacing and rod diameter can be as desired. The maximum percentage mass of U 235 in the uranium (enrichment) is 5%. Maximum reflexion is achieved in practice by means of a water layer 30 cm thick at 1 g/cm3 density. (orig./HP)

Die angegebenen Zahlenwerte und Kurven sind anzuwenden auf isolierte Systeme aus Urandioxid (UO2)-Staeben ohne Huellrohr in Leichtwasser (H2O) bei maximaler Reflexion durch Leichtwasser. Die UO2-Dichte betraegt maximal 10,96 g/cm3, die Wasserdichte 1 g/cm3. Stablaenge, Gitterabstaende und Stabdurchmesser sind beliebig. Der maximale Massenanteil von U 235 in Uran (Anreicherung) betraegt 5%. Maximale Reflexion wird praktisch erreicht durch eine mindestens 30 cm dicke Wasserschicht der Dichte 1 g/cm3.
