A review is devoted to the radiation damage processes study in ionic crystals. Processes of defect formation and colloidal precipitation are considered. Methods of colloid study are described. The principle results of colloidal precipitation in different ionic crystals produced by irradiation with ionizing radiation, electrons, neutrons and heavy particles are presented. Colloidal precipitation conditions and mechanism are considered
