This paper presents an analysis of the problems of extractions encountered at the Russian spent fuel reprocessing RT-1 plant, related to explosion, fire and nuclear safety. Factors causing the distribution and consumption of extractants are considered. The main trends of solving the problem of the plant safe operation are shown
