Description

The European Commission, and in particular the Joint Research Centre (JRC) and its Institute for Energy in Petten, has worked for many years on the safety issues and on the progressive harmonisation of safety requirements and practices to ensure the highest standards of nuclear safety. Recently a new initiative has been implemented, with the launch of the European Clearinghouse for nuclear power plant operational feedback. This paper presents the main objectives of the JRC programmes for nuclear reactor safety and focuses on this new initiative. (authors)
