Description

Basic principles and technological peculiarities of a new method for fabrication of long heavy-current wires on the basis of Bi-ceramics are presented. The suggested flowsheet is based on high-temperature gas-dynamic extrusion of amorphized or crystallized intermediate products in metallic shell with successive operations of thermomechanical treatment. The suggested method is noted for high homogeneity of HTSC-core, high deformation characteristics of partially or totally amorphous material under multiaxial loading during extrusion. Critical current density, calculated for HTSC-core cross section, achieved the values of the order of 1019 A/m2 in the field of 5T at liquid helium temperature. 5 refs.; 5 figs
