Simulation of quasi-continuum spectroscopy of 154dy detected by the gasp array

Description

Structural changes as a function of spin along the yrast line have been the focus of experimental and theoretical nuclear research for the last decades. We are doing the same kind of investigation but at intrinsic excitation energies several MeV above the yrast line, the so called quasi-continuum, it has received much less experimental attention although a wealth of diverse and interesting phenomena are expected to be observed. The GASP array located in Legnaro National Laboratory (LNL) in Italy, is an appropriated system for this aim, the simulation is focused in investigate the use of sum energy and multiplicity as obtained with this array and the analysis is carried out for the identification of the spin-energy region from which a given set of g-cascades originates in a typical fusion-evaporation reaction . We use the Monte Carlo code GAMBLE to produce g-cascades of 154Dy than were then given as input to an application of GEANT4 simulating the GASP array, specially in this work we include cinematic descriptions of the projectile and BGO detectors resolution being this a very important factor due to the large FMHM of this detectors as compared with other kind of detectors. Results are showed as the normalized entry states distributions in spin and excitation energy of groups of certain values of k (the number of detectors hit by the g rays emitted in a cascade) and H (the detected energy).
