On chemical bond between molecular fragments. Closed-shell fragments

Description

Formation of chemical bond between two molecular fragments with closed shells was analyzed using antisymmetrized product of the wave functions of the fragments and the wave function of molecule, made up of the fragments, by way of comparison. Examples of BH3L type compounds (L = CO, NH3, PH3, H2O, PF3) were considered. It is emphasized that participation of the fragment vacant orbitals in the bond is a necessary condition for the formation of chemical bond between the closed-shell fragments. 14 refs, 2 tabs
