A new mechanism of the spin reorientations in HoFeO3

Description
The spin reorientations in HoFeO3 were studied. It was found that above 34 K the Fe3+ magnetic moments leave the (ac) plane of the orthorhombic lattice by a continuous rotation toward a finite angle, probably in the (bc) plane: GzFx-GzyFx. Then above 45 K they start returning to the (ac) plane in a jumpwise manner to go on with the well known continuous reorientation GzxFxzz-GxFz towards the a-axis. (orig.)
