Increasing information reliability in case of radioactive logging

Description
A method has been considered to increase the rate of transmission of pulsed information through a logging cable by bipolar coding of counting pulses. Using the method one inverts polarity of only those pulses whose time of appearance with respect to a previous pulse is less than the ''dead'' time of the cable. The block diagram of a device is given which carries out the above-mentioned method. The device consists of a strobe former, delay lines, coincidence and anticoincidence circuits, an inverter, and a mixer. The method and device described make it possible to reduce distortion and to retain the temporal distribution of registrated pulses at high counting rates. For the KTBD cable the rate of information transmission has been (2.5-3.0)x105 pulses/s at a cable length of 5 km
