Natural analogues and radioactive waste repositories

Description
Within support activities to the benefit of NEA Member States and to demonstrate long-term safety of radioactive waste repositories, NEA has been sponsoring a special project known as the Analogue Study of the Alligator Rivers Region (ARARR). This is a field study investigating the movement and migration of uranium in the groundwater system surrounding the Koongarra uranium deposit of the Northern Territory of Australia. Brief information is presented on the aims and goals of the project. (author)
