New method for analysis of noble metals in intermediate products of nickel production

Description
An analysis method for all noble metals in intermediary nickel process products having a high nickel concentration, from a simple weighed quantity of material has been proposed. It includes sulphiding of the weighed sample quantity with sulpher during test tube melting, chemical upgrading of the resultant matter and Pt, Pd, Rh, Ru, Au and Ag determination by the atomic absorption method and Ir, Os, Ru by emissive methods. The method makes it possible to obtain more confident analysis results and significantly increase (up to 2 rel. %) the accuracy of Pf, Pd, Rh, Ru, Au and Ag determination as compared with the test-tube spectral method previously used for the analysis of these materials
