Description

We studied about the load transfer mechanism of the embedded plate and anchor bolts in concrete and the ultimate strength of the large size anchor bolt embedded in concrete. Then we got the following results: (1) By the tests, FEM analysis and literature survey, the improved column base formula is reasonable for estimate the load transfer mechanism for tensile, bending and combined load. (2) Through the pullout experimental performance of large size anchor bolts embedded in concrete, the tensile capacity is appropriately described by a formula applicable to express the pullout strength of any size of anchor bolt in concrete.
