Dissociative ionization of 2,2,4-trimethylpentane in γ-irradiated liquid perfluorooctane
Description
Mechanism of γ-radiolysis of isooctane solutions (∼0.8 MC8H18) in perfluorooctane at 28 deg temperature is investigated. Analysis of the products produced was performed using gas-liquid chromatography. Dependences of radiation-chemical reaction product yields on isooctane concentration and styrene additions are presented. It is shown that liquid matrix nature effect the composition both of intermediate and finite products of fragmentation of isooctane cation-radical occuring mainly according to reaction of energy transfer from the solvent
