Description
For the development of the LMFBR, the Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corporation (PNC) established a material strength data bank system which includes variety of crack initiation properties. The results were reflected in the PNC's basic design standard. For the integrity assessment of the high temperature structures of the LMFBR, the development of the fracture mechanics approach is needed. For that purpose, a cooperative study was arranged with the cooperation of 17 research institutes under the sponsorship of the PNC. The study aims at the determination of a standard test technique, an accumulation of necessary data and the selection of fracture mechanics parameters for creep fatigue crack propagation analysis in the high temperature components of LMFBR structure
