Description
In the context of humanitary aid the amount of radiation injury and its effect on the population in the highly contaminated district of Krasnopolje, Belorussia, have been continuously analyzed for the past 3 years. The existence of radiation damage to the people (i.e. increasing incidence of carcinoma, hypothyreoidism, immunodeficiency syndroms and psychogenic disorders) has been proved especially since 1994. Additional systematic analysis of a wider population are of extreme importance in order to obtain valid epidemiologic data. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Im Rahmen humanitaerer Hilfeleistungen erfolgen seit drei Jahren auch gemeinsame Analysen der strahlenhygienischen und medizinischen Situation im hochgradig kontaminierten weissrussischen Kreis Krasnopolje. Negative gesundheitliche Effekte (erhoehte Karzinominzidenz, Hypothyreosen, Immuninsuffizienz, psychovegetative Erkrankungen) sind insbesondere seit 1994 eindeutig nachweisbar. Weitere systematische Analysen in groesseren Rahmen sind fuer gesicherte epidemiologische Aussagen unabdingbar. (orig.)Additional details
