Description

The statistical analysis of fine time microstructure of PSR 0809+74 radiowave pulses was performed. Two types of microstructure have been detected, with ''short'' (<500 μs) and ''long'' (0.6-9 ms) timescales. The microstructure is often of periodic character. The distribution of periods P is also divided into two components with ''short'' (50<P<350 μs) and ''long'' (1<P<10 ms) periods. The obtained distribution of scales and periods of microstructure is discussed. The microstructure is explained within the framework of the Starock-Ruderman-Sazerland model. Periodicity of the short-period microstructure agrees with the Boryakov interpretation, when it is considered as a result of nonradial oscillations of a neutron star. Within the framework of the Ruderman-Sazerland model the long-period structure is explained by the periodic transverse structure of the radiating particle beam
