A method to separate the masses of fission fragments with high kinetic energies

  • 1. Institut Max von Laue - Paul Langevin, 38 - Grenoble (France)

Description

A method based on time-of-flight is described to separate the fission fragment masses with a mass resolution of better than 1 amu. Experimental results are presented. Its zone of applicability and the factors that control it, are discussed. The mass yield of 235U(nsub(th),f) is compared with the data from the Lohengrin mass separator. (Auth.)
