Excitation cross sections for electron collisions with sulfur atoms
Description
An analytic atomic independent particle model potential adjusted to experimental single-particle energy levels is used to generate wave functions for the valence and excited states of sulfur. Using these wave functions in conjunction with the Born approximation and LS coupling, we calculate generalized oscillator strengths and integrated cross sections up to 5 keV for various electron impact excitations from the 1s22s22p63s23p4(3P2) ground state
