Description
The implementation of a nuclear power programme in Egypt has been delayed as a result of problems related to financing of the project, public criticism and opposition to the source of energy itself and unfavorable national and international circumstances originating after the accident at Chernobyl. Concerned officials and planners are unanimous about the suitability and competitiveness of nuclear power as an energy source which can have a large share in the energy mix proposed to satisfy the growing energy needs of the country.
