'What's in a name. That which we call CR39...'
Description
The development of the plastic polymer of Columbia Resin 39, poly allyl diglycol carbonate (PADC) as a nuclear track detector is described. PADC has the unique ability to record protons of energy up to 18 MeV and all natural alpha particles at full energy. The applications of PADC as a nuclear track detector include cosmic ray research, manned spacecraft dosimetry, alpha particle spectrometry, autoradiography, neutron spectrometry, fusion diagnostics, alpha dosimetry and neutron dosimetry.
