Physical determination and meaning of the law of Hubble
Description
A physical rederiving of the law of Hubble (LH) is based on the operational approach of the Lorentz transformations (LTs). Just as the origin of the LH in the star motion relative to Earth, as predicted by the Doppler relativistic formula (Drf), requires a starlight traveling along their relative velocity, it follows not only that Drf is inadequately chosen being involved by LTs equation, but also that the time-equation is that which gives LH with the Hubble constant of H =upsilon/λ. Confronted with the empirical value of H/sup -1/ ≅ (4.1 +- 2) 10/sup 17/ s, it predicts a velocity of upsilon -- 10/sup 24/ m s/sup -1/, by which LH does not support the galaxies receding from Earth, but instead supports a recoil that every source of light must undergo at the emission of a wave train. The recoil and the continuity of the signal imply a broadening upsilon T of a wavelength at each new wavelength emitted by the source. Consequently, the nth measured wavelength in signal underwent n broadenings since its emission and its Δλ is given by Δλ = n upsilon λ/c, where n λ = chi. This result removes the discrepancy between the ratios of the terrestrial wavelengths identified with those coming from a star and the ratios of the suitable Δλ's/sup 2/ (equal by LH), which cannot be attributed to measuring errors because of the dependence of upsilon on both the number of photons in a plane transverse to the wave rector and their energy. It an be checked with a laser that operates continuously by defecting its light repeatedly (e.g., between the moon and a satellite)
