Maintenance problems on the BOR-60 fast reactor

Creators

Description

Since commissioning in December 1969, the Soviet Union's fast research reactor, BOR-60, has suffered from badly leaking fuel elements, contamination from sodium combustion, and related problems. However, useful experience has been gained in the extraction of removable sections of various reactor components for maintenance. Some of the safety problems encountered during these operations are described. (author)
