An improved on-demand beam pulsing system and its application to historical painting analysis

Description
The on-demand beam pulsing system in Fudan University has been improved in the following respects. First, the pulse pile-up interval is shortened to 90 ns by introducing a fast pile-up rejection path into the system. Second, the external proton beam is better monitored by RBS. Third, the beam spot size on target is increased by using a diffusing foil. Some preliminary results of analyzing historical paintings are presented
