High-resolution inelastic x-ray scattering. From the present generation toward the next
Description
The paper reviews high-resolution, non-resonant, inelastic x-ray scattering (IXS) as a method of investigating atomic and electronic dynamics on meV energy scales and ∼A length scales. Examples of recent experiments are discussed, as well as potential for improvement as SPring-8 using a long undulator with a short period. (author)
