Proceeding from data published in the literature and from the authors' own long experience with the use of radio-gas chromatography in the analysis of labelled organic compounds, the problems are discussed occurring in the conversion of the effluent from the column before monitoring the activities of 3H and 14C: the memory effect, the effect on the peak shape and the optimization of the hydrocracking method.
