Description

The effect of polyfunctional monomer (PFM) on radiation pre-vulcanization ofchloro-butyl rubber / natural rubber (CIIR/NR) was studied. CIIR/NR pre-vulcanized by γ-ray or electron beam. The PFM is dipropylene glycol diacrylate(DPGDA) and triallyl isocyanurate(TAIC). The results show that the amount of DPGDA can accelerate the radiation crosslink of CIIR/NR in the experiment. When DPGDA was less than 1.0%, the green strength of CIIR/NR increased with the increase of absorbed dose. When the amount of DPGDA was greater than 1.0%, the green strength decreased with the increase of dose. The mechanical strength of CIIR/NR decreased a little after vulcanization by heating. However, TAIC cannot accelerate the radiation crosslink of CIIR/NR. (authors)
