Static distortions of disordered niobium carbide crystal lattice
Description
Neutron diffraction analysis of disordered niobium carbide has been carried out. Concentration dependences of root-mean-square dynamic and static displacement of atoms in niobium carbide have been determined. Analysis of the concentration dependence of static displacements of atoms has shown that the localized bonds in niobium carbide predominate over long-range metallic interactions
