Power analysis of charged particle flux in exponential planar fields

  • 1. Sankt-Peterburgskij Gosudarstvennyj Tekhnicheskij Univ. (Russian Federation)

Description

The paper gives consideration to power analyzing properties for two-dimensional electro-static field with exponential falling potential along the plane of symmetry. The field geometry describes with the following potential expression: F=F0·exp(-ax)·cos(ay) The paper makes a complete theory of the power-analyzer and all its electronic and optical characteristics are identified by the analytical way: shape and dimensions of tracings, aberration factors, energy dispersion. The design simplicity of the energy-analyzer containing of two identical electrodes of arched profile, should be noted. High dispersion level makes possible to use it in Auger spectroscopy, in installation of secondary ion mass-spectrometry with angular discrimination
