Comparative analysis of the change of fuel from Bunker to LPG used in roasting roasted coffee to reduce pollutants emitted in fuel gas
Description
The process and results of the implementation of a project were presented at Tostadora El Dorado S.A. The use of a bunker was replaced by liquefied petroleum gas in roasting roasted coffee. A comparative analysis was carried out of the contaminating capacity of the LPG with respect to the bunker. A greater negative environmental impact was established in the fuel called bunker. The technical feasibility of using liquefied petroleum gas as an alternative fuel to the bunker was evaluated in the roasting process of roasted coffee, as well as the environmental and financial benefits that can be attributed to the change derived from the use of this new fuel. The process by which the infrastructure and equipment for the use of LPG are installed as described in the coffee roasting process. The positive impacts of the project were exposed: financial, labor and environmental. In the environmental case, the ability to comply with the maximum allowed limits, which have been established by the Regulation on Emission of Atmospheric Pollutants from boilers and indirect furnaces (Decree No. 36551-S-MINAET-MTSS)
