Drastic Improvement in Heat Resistance of Chromium Based Alloys
- 1. Georgian Technical University, Tbilisi (Georgia)
Description
The present thermo-chemical treatment procedures of well-known chromium based alloys containing rare earth metals may be used for protection of ready wares of these materials against high temperature influence of oxidizing environments. After oxidation in air at 1200℃ during 100 hours the specific weight gain of the best alloy was equal to 3.45 mg/cm2 while the thermo-chemical treatment was promoted to drastic lowering of this value till 0.12 mg/cm2.
