Determination of fraction of multiple processes in dd interactions at 12 GeV/c

Description
The fraction of multiple processes is determined by two independent methods making use of a sample of ∼ 27000 dd interactions at 12 GeV/c. The first method is based on direct selection of single interactions by the presence of fast spectator protons. In the second method the mean multiplicities of charged particles produced in dd and NN interactions are considered. The fraction of multiple processes appears to agree with the Glauber model prediction
