Experimental determination of the NN tensor force at low energies

Description
In this paper it is shown that data for the spin-dependent n-p total cross section differences ΔσL and ΔσT and their combinations (ΔσL-ΔσT) and (ΔσT/ΔσL) are very sensitive to the 3S1-3D1 mixing parameter ε1 in the energy range between 5 and 35 MeV. The influence of the uncertainties of other NN phase-shift parameters on ΔσL and ΔσT is carefully investigated. Experimental methods for measuring ΔσL and ΔσT are discussed
