Whereas the digestion of the sludge of water treatment plants is still very rare (7 installations in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region), this study discusses the operation of such a digester. It describes and discusses the sludge methanogen potential, and the digester operation and bio-methane production. It reports observations made on studied digesters: digester heating, digester supply, digester management, feedback towards the water sector, struvite formation, biogas production. It proposes an overview of possible support arrangements for a project
