Description

SEQUOIA is a high resolution direct geometry chopper spectrometer currently under construction at the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS). The spectrometer is designed for incident energies ranging from Ei=20-2000meV with resolution at the elastic position of ΔE/Ei∼1-5%. With unprecedented monochromatic peak flux, SEQUOIA will be a unique best in class spectrometer. SEQUOIA takes advantage of several recent innovations in neutron instrumentation to excel in its performance. The performance of SEQUOIA, details of the innovations mentioned above, and the current status of construction will be presented
