Partially transient plasma response near an attainable harmonic state
Description
A warm collisionless plasma with slowly varying space-time dependent inhomogeneities is responding to the unsteady and partially time-harmonic source current J(X)=I(X)exp(-iωt) which, after being switched-on at zero instant, acts from a time-independent bounded region R about the origin and eventually becomes fully time-harmonic at the real frequency ω. The response to a spatially anisotropic source function of this kind has been investigated for a general homogeneous isotropic medium. It differs significantly from transient response, which has been studied for the 'multiple water-bag' plasma. (author) 6 refs
