Description
Historical aspects are described of designing, development, startup and successful operation during 35 years of the Romashka converter reactor - first in the world plant with direct (thermo-electric) conversion of the 235U fission thermal energy into electric one. It is noted that the thermo-electric silicon-germanium converters developed during Romashka creation are widely used in the operating space NPP
