- 1. Mitsubishi Electric Corp., Amagasaki, Hyogo (Japan). Central Research Lab.
Description
Assisted by funds provided by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry for the development of important technology, and experimental superconductive generator rated at 6250kVA, among the largest in the world, has recently been built. The 2-pole, 3600rpm machine has a rotor diameter of 39cm and a bearing-to-bearing length of 190cm, and contains a superconductive field coil of Nb-Ti-Ta wire. The stator is 110cm in diameter and 168cm in length with an armature coil of the air-gap winding type, and has oil-filled forced cooling. (author)
