A study of shapes of Ca2 chromospheric emissions in late type stars
Description
The shapes of the Ca2(K) emission cores described by Glebocki and Stawikowski are reanalyzed. The correlations between W1, W2 and W0 widths for different intensities of emissions have been obtained. For very strong emissions the slope of the emission core was found to be dependent on the effective temperature, the surface gravity and age of the star. Relations between the mass column density above the photosphere and effective temperature, gravity and age of stars have also been obtained and discussed. (author)
